About Winmau
About Winmau
Winmau was founded in 1946 by ex-sergeant major Harry Kicks in London's East End, and named after his wife, Winifred Maud; the brand says it is pronounced "Winmore". Fellow dartboard maker Nodor has owned Winmau since 2002, and the company now runs from the Bridgend Industrial Estate in South Wales. As of October 2026 its players are led by three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen, with Danny Noppert, Joe Cullen, Daryl Gurney and Australia's Simon Whitlock.
What is Winmau known for?
Dartboards first. The original Blade, launched in 1997, was built to cut bounce-outs, and the Blade line now runs through the Blade 6, its Dual Core and Triple Core versions, the Blade 360 and the Blade X. Under a 10-year agreement announced in January 2026, the Blade X is the official board of PDC stage events, and Winmau also sponsors the PDC Challenge Tour, Development Tour and World Youth Championship. Winmau states its championship dartboards comply with World Darts Federation specifications.
Which Winmau range suits you?
Dartboards and bundles: the Blade 6 is the standard home and club board, the Triple Core versions add a third, highly compressed layer of sisal for dart retention, and the Blade X is the board used on the PDC stage. Bundles pair a board with a surround, cabinet or lighting.
Darts and points: mostly 90% tungsten, including the MVG ranges and designs such as Fornax and Lunaris in tapered and parallel versions. Switch Point darts take Winmau's Switch points, which come in smooth, grooved and wave grips.
Flights, cases and setup: Fusion all-in-one flight and shafts, Armor cases in several sizes, Pro Zone dart mats with an integrated oche, dartboard stands and the Autodarts Vantage automated scoring system.
