About Red Dragon
About Red Dragon
Red Dragon was started in 1975 by two former Ford automotive engineers, one of them John Bluck, in a garage in Bridgend, South Wales. They set out to build a tungsten darts business and were early to sell darts by mail order. John's son Vince Bluck is managing director, and the company now works from its own darts facility on the Bridgend Industrial Estate, where player darts are developed with the players in its development lab. Red Dragon marked 50 years in 2025.
What is Red Dragon known for?
Red Dragon is a tungsten dart specialist: nearly all the darts we stock are 90% tungsten, with the Dragonfly 95 at 95%. Its player list is short, as of October 2026: Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright, Jonny Clayton and Gian van Veen, three of them PDC world champions. Its Hardcore flights come in prints that match many of its dart ranges, including Paradym, Seren, Dragonfly 95 and T-800.
Which Red Dragon range suits you?
Player darts: the setups the pros use, such as Luke Humphries' TX5, Peter Wright's Black Mamba and Euro 11, Jonny Clayton's Hiraeth and the Gian van Veen range. Some, such as the Gian van Veen Tour Edition, also come in a Switch Point version.
Red Dragon designs: the Paradym, Recon, Ascend and Sable ranges come in more than one barrel shape. A parallel barrel keeps one diameter along its length, so the grip spot can move without changing feel; torpedo and tapered barrels carry more of the weight towards the front. The Seren range is numbered 1 to 4 in Pure and Onyx finishes.
Flights: Hardcore flights in standard designs and in prints matched to the dart ranges, so a set can be kept uniform.
