Short answer: Shot Camo darts are three steel tip sets with camo-finished tungsten barrels: the Ghillie (90%, missile shape), the Longshot (95%, scallop profile) and the Polar (90%, torpedo shape). All three use Shot's Turbo Point screw-in points. Shot also released two Willie O'Connor Pro Series sets, plus matching flights and points.

What's new from Shot?

| Dart | Tungsten | Barrel shape | Grip (Shot's 1-5 scale) | Balance | Weights |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Camo Ghillie | 90% | Missile | 4: frag pattern with ring cuts | Centre | 23, 24, 25 g |
| Camo Longshot | 95% | Scallop | 4: Zero Grid | Centre | 23, 24, 25 g |
| Camo Polar | 90% | Torpedo | 5: Shark grip | Front | 23, 24, 25 g |
| Willie O'Connor Pro Series | 90% | Straight | 3: rings and milled slots | Centre | 23, 24 g |
| Willie O'Connor Magpie | 90% | Straight | 3: rings and milled slots | Centre | 23, 24 g |
Every set is match weighted to within 0.05 g, according to Shot, and every one takes Turbo Points, so a worn or bent point can be swapped without repointing the barrel.

What is the Shot Camo finish?
The Camo range is built around its surface. Shot describe a three-stage process on the tungsten billet: a micro blast texture, then a DryTek ceramic layer, then a laser-etched camo pattern. Shot say the DryTek ceramic creates thousands of fine contact points that break up the film of moisture on the fingers, so the grip holds when hands are warm or damp, and that the textured surface is abrasion and impact resistant.
In practice that means the camo is part of the grip, not a print on top of it. The Ghillie and Longshot carry the DryTek finish; the Polar has Shot's MicroBlast camo finish.

Camo Ghillie: who is it for?

The Camo Ghillie is a 90% tungsten missile barrel in green camo DryTek. The grip combines a 360-degree frag pattern with ring cuts, rated 4 out of 5 by Shot, and the balance sits in the centre.
A missile shape is thickest towards the front and tapers to the rear, which suits players who hold the front half of the barrel and want a clear place to put their fingers each throw. The frag pattern gives bite all the way round, so it doesn't matter how the dart sits in the hand.
In the box: three barrels, Arctic Camo White flights (No. 6), Koi carbon in-between shafts with spring rings, and Shadow Black Turbo Points in 30 mm.

Camo Longshot: why 95% tungsten?

The Camo Longshot is the top model in the range: 95% tungsten, a scallop profile and Shot's Zero Grid grip (4 out of 5), in black camo DryTek, centre weighted.
Higher tungsten content means a denser barrel, so at the same weight the Longshot is slimmer than a 90% dart. Slimmer barrels group more tightly on the board, which matters most when stacking darts in the treble 20. Our tungsten guide covers what the percentage changes in more detail.
In the box: three barrels, Woodlands Camo Green and Arctic Camo White flights (No. 6), black Tao and Koi carbon shafts, and Shadow Black Turbo Points in 30 mm.

Camo Polar: the most grip in the range

The Camo Polar is a 90% tungsten torpedo with a MicroBlast camo finish in grey and white. It carries Shot's Shark grip, rated 5 out of 5, the heaviest grip in this launch.
A torpedo shape puts the weight towards the front, for players who like to feel the weight forward in the hand. With the Shark grip it suits anyone whose darts slip on release or who throws with dry fingers. It is also the lowest-cost way into the Camo range.
In the box: three barrels, Arctic Camo White flights (No. 6), Koi carbon in-between shafts with spring rings, and Shadow Black Turbo Points in 30 mm.

Willie O'Connor Pro Series: Pro Series or Magpie?

Willie O'Connor's Pro Series darts are a straight 90% tungsten barrel with ring cuts and precision-milled slots, a 3 out of 5 grip and a centre balance. The two sets share the same barrel; the difference is the finish.
- Pro Series: green and orange PCT coating, in 23 and 24 g.
- Magpie: black titanium, in 23 and 24 g.
A straight barrel with a moderate grip is the most adaptable shape there is: it doesn't dictate where the fingers go, so it suits players who are still settling on a grip or who move their hold along the barrel. Both sets come with Willie O'Connor flights (No. 6), Koi carbon in-between shafts with spring rings, and black Turbo Points in 30 mm. See all his darts in the Willie O'Connor collection.

Shadow Black Turbo Points: spares and lengths

Shadow Black Turbo Points are the points supplied with the Camo darts, sold separately as a set of three in 30, 35 and 40 mm. They are hardened, heat-treated stainless steel with a black finish, and the grooves with V-cut machining give extra grip for players who hold right at the front of the barrel.
Turbo Points screw into any Shot Turbo Point barrel, including the Willie O'Connor sets. A longer point moves the centre of gravity forward; our dart points guide compares the main point systems.

The new flights

Each dart's flights are also sold on their own, in the No. 6 standard shape: Arctic Camo White (Ghillie, Polar and Longshot), Woodlands Camo Green (Longshot) and the Willie O'Connor flights (both O'Connor sets). Keep a spare set in the case: flights are the part that wears out first. The flights and shafts guide explains the shapes.

Frequently asked questions
Are Shot Camo darts steel tip?
Yes. The Ghillie, Longshot and Polar on Darts Online are steel tip darts with Shot's Turbo Point screw-in points.
What is DryTek on Shot darts?

Can I change the points on Shot Camo darts?
Yes. All five new sets use Turbo Points, which screw in and out. Spares come in 30, 35 and 40 mm as Shadow Black Turbo Points.
What is the difference between the Willie O'Connor Pro Series and the Magpie?
The barrel, grip, balance and weights are the same. The Pro Series has a green and orange PCT coating; the Magpie is black titanium.
What weights do the new Shot darts come in?
The three Camo darts come in 23, 24 and 25 g. The two Willie O'Connor sets come in 23 and 24 g.
How accurate are the weights?
Shot match weight each set to within 0.05 g.
